GRC is no longer only about checks and balances. Done well, it is what lets a business move quickly without breaking things. That was the thread through a very good day of discussion.
What stood out
- Security inside GRC. Moving from basic protection to security built in from the start. Non compliance now goes straight to data integrity and keeping the business running.
- One joined up framework. Governance, risk and compliance working from a single view of the truth, instead of three teams with three spreadsheets.
- From reacting to predicting. Using AI, analytics and automation to see a risk coming before it becomes a crisis.
- Shared ownership. Accountability spread across every function, so GRC is part of everyone's role.
- Trust. In a changing rulebook, the base layer is ethical governance and being open about how decisions are made.
